Jazz in the Forest

Jazz in the Forest (Jazz w Lesie) is an event whose official name “festival” does not fully evoke its atmosphere. It has been organized since 1996, always on the last weekend of July in the small Kashubian village of Sulęczyno. Dozens of the most famous Polish and foreign jazz stars have already performed on the forest stage in Sulęczyno.

Nightly jam sessions in the dining room of the resort are a notable tradition of the Jazz in the Forest Festival. They sometimes end with... a breakfast eaten together. These jazz improvisations often evolve into amazing concerts played in unique artist configurations. The audience at the festival is also great. In the majority they are people who have come to Sulęczyno for a holiday.

However, there are more and more jazz fans who come especially for the “Jazz in the Forest” festival from remote corners of Poland and from abroad. What is more, in the audience you may meet many front-page celebrities and sit at a table with a well-known politician or actor.

All these attractions make “Jazz in the Forest” an unprecedented and unique event on the Polish, European and even global scale.

The date of this year’s Jazz in the Forest: as always on the last weekend of July (30-31.VII.2010 - Friday and Saturday)
